What's included in the floating stair nosing project

  • On-site measurement visit (required before fabrication)
  • Full wrap-around stair block or tread — all four edges finished
  • Front nose edge in square or rounded profile
  • Both side return caps integrated into the stair block
  • Back edge finished — no exposed raw material from any angle
  • 1-year workmanship warranty on all fabricated pieces

All four edges finished — front nose + both sides + back

Why an on-site visit is required: Floating stairs have no standard dimensions. Every project needs individual measurements — tread depth, width, thickness, mounting method, and existing hardware clearances. Victor comes to the site, takes every measurement, and quotes based on what he finds. There is no charge for the consult.

Are your stairs floating — with visible space between treads and no risers?Yes → this is your kit
Can you see all four edges of each tread (front, back, left, right)?Yes → this is your kit — you need a fully-wrapped stair block
Are your stairs mounted to a wall, beam, or metal stringer (no enclosed sides)?Yes → this is your kit — standard kits won't work for floating stairs

Floating stair nosing — common questions

Standard kits fabricate a nose piece that caps the front edge of the tread. Floating stairs have no riser and all four edges are visible — front, back, left, and right. Every edge must be finished cleanly, which requires a fully-wrapped stair block rather than a front-edge-only nose piece.
Yes — same as all our kits, we fabricate from your actual planks. You bring the planks after the on-site visit confirms the exact count needed. We do not source substitute material.
Plan for: 1–3 days to schedule the on-site visit, 1 day for the visit and quoting, 3–5 business days for fabrication after you drop off planks. Total: typically 1–2 weeks from first contact to pickup.
Yes, if you can provide planks from the same product line and dye lot as the existing treads. Bring us one of the existing treads and the spare planks — Victor will assess the match before confirming.
